Dear friends and neighbours, 

As Canadians we are fortunate to be citizens of a free and democratic country that welcomes people of all cultures and backgrounds. As an immigrant to Canada myself, I am pleased to invite you to my annual Canada Day Picnic on July 1st at Locarno Beach. 

Canada’s birthday is an excellent opportunity to celebrate our country and all that is great about being Canadian. At 156 years old, Canada is still a young boisterous nation with much to learn and contribute on the national and international stages.  

The last time we gathered in person to celebrate was in 2019 and as we continue to ease our way out of the pandemic, Canada’s birthday is a perfect occasion to come together. I hope to celebrate with you, your family, and the wider Vancouver Quadra community on July 1st.
