Welcome back to our MP Breakfast Connections community. It is important to stay physically apart yet stay connected, so we are excited to launch this new Brunch series (at a less challengingly early hour!) to continue our policy dialogues with great speakers and discussions – virtually.
Join MP Joyce Murray in a conversation “On Managing a Pandemic” with BC’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry. Dr. Henry speaks science from the heart and her calm voice of reason has guided BC’s response to the COVID19 pandemic effectively, as BC’s relatively low fatalities attest. This is an opportunity to hear the story behind her rise to the current challenge, her experience of leading British Columbians through this unprecedented crisis, and her thoughts about the way forward.
Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Henry is a specialist in public health and preventive (community) medicine. She co-authored the Canadian Pandemic Plan and has been on the frontlines fighting polio, SARS, Ebola, H1N1 and addictions before confronting the challenges and human tragedies of the present coronavirus crisis.
Pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and engage in a discussion with Dr Henry, integrating science, emergency management, pragmatism, and a strong grasp of human nature.
June 1st, 2020 from 11am-12pm (PST)
